How San Mateo High School Sports are Funded
District Funding
The District provides essential equipment and uniforms necessary to play the sport. Examples include: swimsuits, jerseys and shorts, basketballs, soccer balls.
Booster Fundraising
The Boosters provide funding to enhance the competitive development and experience for SMHS Athletes. Examples include: equipment or clothing used year-over-year which is not covered in the District budget; athletic training supplies, Assistant Coach stipends, tournament fees, technology and awards, and all freshman team costs.
Team Fundraising
Teams may conduct their own fundraisers to purchase clothing or equipment that the athletes keep. Examples include: t-shirts, warm-ups, Senior banners.
